230gsm Vs. 290gsm Prints

February 28, 2017

If you lay them next to each other you will notice the difference in thickness and feel of the paper. Thickness is measured in GSM (Grams per Square Meter), the higher the number, the thicker the paper. And as one would expect, the quality and price do tend to increase.
As a comparison 120 to 140gsm is a standard weight for a good quality poster you would expect to last for a while

Our 230gsm prints are on a matt-coated photo paper, with its ability to absorb extremely large amounts of ink, stands out from most other papers in its class. Strong, vivid colours guarantee a pleasing and high quality appearance that is reliable and long lasting, even under extreme conditions.

The 290gsm prints are on Hahnemühle Bamboo, as explained in more detail here the world's first digital fine art inkjet paper made from bamboo fibers. Bamboo represents spirituality, naturalness and resource-saving paper production. Particularly suitable for warm-toned colour and monochrome prints, Bamboo really highlights the sensuality of images.
